Abstract

This chapter discusses sci-fi/fantasy programming on ITV in the 1980s and the relationship of those programmes with the Industrial disputes of the period. With a focus on Robin of Sherwood and Knights of God, it addresses the use of mythological figures in family drama and as political text. The chapter includes brief discussion of Doctor Who and Maid Marion and Her Merry Men.
