Abstract
During work in school and community sport programs, I often see evidence of how beginner-coaches’ professional competencies are held back by coach education systems that traditionally rely on more performance-related ways of coaching, and that underequip them in terms of real-life coaching problems and application of practice. This chapter presents an instructional strategy that promotes proper construction and supervision of sessions, and focuses on meaningfully developing participants’ learning experience through high activity and engagement.
