Abstract
Environmental law should work for the benefit of both society today and tomorrow. A socio-legal exploration of the environmental law of today, using the Russia-Ukraine conflict as a key example. The essay will focus on the balance between prioritising present-day needs, such as economic pressures in times of war, with longer-term environmental pressures. The importance of inter-generational law will be emphasised, something which is not being sufficiently addressed today.
