This dissertation critically analyses the Illegal Migration Act 2023 in order to present the competing narratives presented by the act and perceived by the domestic audience, to consider and evaluate who the act is really protecting and the effects this has had on British citizens, asylum seekers and human rights. Not only this, but it also delves into the consideration of the new Border Security, Asylum, and Immigration Act 2025, while considering other routes taken by institutions abroad and what more can be done to protect individuals within the United Kingdom.
