This is a collection of short non-fiction stories, in the vein of Joan Didion’s The White
Album, roughly centring on the themes of youth and lost innocence. An early working
title was La Petit Mort, as the narrative comprises a series of ‘little deaths’ taking the
protagonist from childhood to adulthood. Also in the collection is an essay exploring
Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (an influence on the project),
truth claims and the concept of ‘Creative Non-Fiction.’
