Abstract
An exploration of the ways in which Ted Hughes influenced the teaching of creative writing in Britain. The chapter examines Hughes's theory of writing and imagination, with special reference to Poetry in the Making. It also comments on Hughes's experience of judging children's poetry competitions and his role in setting up the Arvon Foundation.
