Abstract

There is a need, demand and expectation that University courses should offer maximum value for money. Allied to this, wider stakeholders in sport (see government suggestions, employer recommendations, and NGB requirements), advocate that prospective students are prepared to enter the workforce with qualifications and experience that matches the broader policy and vocational requirements.

As a commissioned piece of work, this pilot study demonstrates how Sports Leaders UK (SLUK) courses might be embedded in degree provision in two ways. Firstly, through existing degree or specific module provision. And secondly, by developing new course materials and/or course designs that allow the integration of SLUK or similar type qualifications to maximise student learning, experience and prospects.
