Abstract

The project investigated how inclusive primary schools are of LGBT issues.
Questionnaires were completed by teachers, teaching assistants, senior
leadership and office staff. Three interviews were conducted with a teacher,
teaching assistant and a member of the senior leadership team; document
analysis was carried out using the school’s statutory anti- bullying policy. The
data indicated the research setting had a number of areas which could be
developed to increase their inclusivity of LGBT issues. The research
concludes by discussing five key advisories for primary schools, to ensure the
inclusive practice of LGBT issues.
