Abstract

A comparison of flash fiction and oral stories - considering the revival of live readings and the short story's relationship to anecdote and performance. The lecture was the third in a series called 'The Short Story in the 21st Century', organised by the Open University as part of its 'Contemporary Cultures of Writing', and staged at Senate House in The University of London.
