Abstract

This report outlines the final results of the artistic research project entitled "global drifts". Global drifts (2006) was a streamed performative event that linked ideas of body and environment by connecting international urban architectures through the fluid systems of local and global digital networks. It was one of six performance and installation projects taking place within "accented body" a distributed, multi-artist, site-specific performative event conceived and directed by Dr Cheryl Stock (Queensland University of Technology) for the Brisbane International Festival 2006. A collaboration with choreographer Hellen Sky, digital artist Hyojung Seo, composers Seunghye Kim and performers Liz Lea and Bridget Fiske. "Global drifts" was itself a distributed performative event, live and digital choreography flowing across the Creative Industries Precinct at QUT throughout the "accented body" performance, with simultaneous satellite events in Seoul, Korea and London, UK. This report outlines processes used in developing the work and the choreographic concepts that evolved as the project developed.
